Calling all community members! Do you have an idea or an event to help further youth substance abuse awareness and prevention efforts in Livingston County? You could be the next recipient of a mini-grant from the Livingston County Community Alliance. These grants, given twice per year, go to community groups and organizations that offer creative solutions to the problems we’re facing, and can be as much as $500 each.

In the past, the LCCA has awarded mini-grants for student-led prevention programs in Pinckney, a mock car crash presentation, and the Dance Project in support of their effort to give youth a positive outlet. So there’s a very broad range of what could qualify for an award. The key is to find innovative and creative ways to connect with kids, and to be specific about how the money would be spent.

We’re looking for detailed, well-thought out proposals. Be sure to keep it local- these projects must target Livingston County youth. Applications that are incomplete or don’t meet all the criteria will not be considered, so be sure to read and follow the instructions carefully. You’ll find a link to all the details here. And you need to act quickly, because applications are due no later than 3pm on May 24. Good luck!
